Todaiji Documents and Records

In the National Archives of Japan are 289 documents and records related to Todaiji Temple that were purchased by the Cabinet Records Bureau, the National Archives predecessor, in the 21st year of Meiji (1888). Many of them concern land in the Temple domains in the six provinces of Yamashiro, Yamato, Settsu, Iga, Mino, and Suou.
