1.2. Simple Search
You can search our catalog database by keyword(s), target range and other information.
Fonds/Series Hierarchy (Red frame)
By clicking "Open Fonds/Series Hierarchy", you can display Fonds/Series Hierarchy on left side. (Chart 1: Open Fonds/Series Hierarchy)
By clicking "Close Fonds/Series Hierarchy", you can close Fonds/Series Hierarchy. (Chart 2: Close Fonds/Series Hierarchy)

You can search our catalog database by keywords.
Search conditions listed below are also available:
Search conditions listed below are also available:
- Items Specify items for search from pull-down menu.
- Keywords Input keyword(s) for search.
See "1.4 Input regulations". - Search from: By checking on, specify whether limited to "Archives" or "Cabinet Library" database.
- Search for: By checking on, specify whether limited to level of "Fonds/Series" or "Files" or "Items".
- Dictionary By checking on, specify whether related words (registered in-advance) include to keywords or not.
- 1. If checked, related words are included to keywords for search.
- 2. Otherwise, only input keyword(s) is used for search.
- Use Dictionary HelpBy clicking "?", display explanation for using dictionary.
- Refer to DictionaryBy clicking, display refer-to-dictionary screen.
- Image Data AvailableBy checking on, specify whether limited to catalogs with image data (material image, micrograph or image by Japan of Asian Historical Records).
- Display result # per pageSpecify number of results displayed in a page, from 20, 50, 100 and 200. *Note that it takes more time to display results if number of results increased.
- Summary contentsSpecify contents of results displayed.
- "Search"Search executes.
- "Clear"Clear search conditions.
By clicking "Browse Dictionary", you can reach to "Refer Dictionary" screen and chose words using for search from input keywords and related words (registered in-advance in "Refer Dictionary").
You can select words by checking or clicking.
- 1. Select input keywords for search by checking (Red frame).
- 2. Select related words for search by checking (Green frame).
Also specify conditions between words for search as below.- - OR : Search materials with Word A OR Word B
- - AND : Search materials with Word A AND Word B
- - NOT : Search materials with Word A without Word B
- 3. Change input keywords and search again(Blue frame)
- 4. Click "select all" to select all input keywords and related word for search. Click "uncheck all" to uncheck all input keywords and related word.
- 5. Click "Set words and close", set words to keywords in search screen and close this screen.
- 6. Click "Close"; just close this screen (without setting keywords in search screen). You can also close screen by clicking other part of this screen or top-right "close" or pushing "Esc" key.
