2.1.1 Search Conditions

• Search from: By checking on, specify whether limited to "Archives" or "Cabinet Library" database.
• Search for: By checking on, specify whether limited to level of "Fonds/Series" or "Files" or "Items".
• Image Data Available: By checking on, specify whether limited to catalogs with image data (material image, micrograph or image by Japan of Asian Historical Records).
• Target Range Specification:
  • From this result　All selected Fonds/Series or Files are search target.
  • From checked records　Search target is restrict to checked materials.　
• Summary contents: Specify contents of results displayed from pull-down menu.
• Keywords: Input keyword(s) for search. Refer to "1.4 Input Regulations".
• Search Execute search.
• Search help By clicking "?", explanation of search is displayed.
• Display result X per page Specify number of results displayed in a page.
• Dictionary By checking on, specify whether related words (registered in-advance) include to keywords or not.
  • 1. If checked, related words are included to keywords for search.
  • 2. Otherwise, only input keyword(s) is used for search.
• Use Dictionary Help By clicking "?", display explanation for using dictionary.
• Back to search menu Back to Simple Search.

2.1.2 Search Result

Matches: The number of matched items. The number of displayed items is shown in parentheses

Image Data Available: By checking on, specify whether limited to catalogs with image data (material image, micrograph or image by Japan of Asian Historical Records).

Pages (Blue frame):Page numbers are displayed if search result extend to multiple pages.
Switching way is as below:

First	Jump to the first page.
Prev	Move to the previous page.
Number	Specify the page number and move.
Next	Move to the next page.
Last	Jump to the last page.

Sort (Red frame):　Sort result in ascending or descending order of specified condition in pull-down menu.
* To sort, you need click "Change" button.

Title	Sort in title.
Fonds/Series Order	Sort in Fonds/Series Order.
Organization	Sort in bureaus/departments or name.
Date	Sort in creation date.

Search Result:

Search Target	By checking, you can specify search target by Fonds/Series or Files. Checkbox is not displayed to the item which cannot be assigned. (Target Range Specification should be "From record checked" to activate this specification.)
No	The number of the turn.
Description	Title, Name of Files, call number or other information of the material.
State of publication	Specify of state of publication. Open You can browse original or microfilm. Require Exam. You need to be examined to browse original. *Depend on examination; you may be turn down to browse. Private You cannot browse original.
Images	"BROWSE" button on right column shows image data is available. Color of button indicates images below: Monochrome image digitalized by National Archives of Japan. You can browse one of AJAX/JPEG2000/JPEG/PDF formats. Requires install of JuGeMu Player and Adobe Reader. Image data in DjVu format published on Japan Center for Asian Historical Records. Requires install of DjVu plug-in. Full-color JPEG2000 image published on Digital Gallery. Requires install of JuGeMu Player.

* By clicking title of the hierarchy, "1.3.4 Layered Search" is displayed.

Description(Yellow frame) Change summary type is displayed and you can chose "View normal summary" or "View layered summary". Default is normal.
