Kanehukikata no zu

The scroll depicts the working process of minting gold coins in a Kinza (gold minting factory), which was situated in what is now the Head Office of the Bank of Japan (Nihonbashi Hongoku Cho, Chuo ward, Tokyo). The painting order does not correspond to the actual working process provably to retain the secrets of minting, although the attached explanation shows the working process. The scroll was thought to be painted in around the 9th year of Bunsei (1826).
