The National Archives of Japan Digital Archive provides a Cross Search function that enables users to perform keyword searches across databases maintained by public archives throughout Japan. By collaborating with these institutions and aggregating their catalog data, we aim to promote the use of historical public records.

The Cross Search interface presents a list of participating institutions and their respective databases. Search results from the Cross Search may only show part of the information available in each database. For full details, please refer to the individual institution’s database. To access original materials, please check the access guidelines or terms of use provided by the holding institution.
