- Materials included in this unit consist mainly of applications for approval for toll road business, construction work execution plans, construction work method explanations, applications for structural and other facilities as well as notifications of their changes, construction work completion certificates, and notifications of the commencement of service under the Special Measures Law of Road Maintenance (1956 Law No. 7), which underwent full revision in 1956. The names of prefectures or the names of corporations operating toll roads are written after the unified volume name on the documents related to toll roads. While some documents with the same company name printed thereon have the year of creation printed thereon, others cover two or more prefectures in a single volume or do not have the year of creation printed thereon. Also included are documents related to road development project loans between 1951 and 1956 and documents related to budget negotiations between 1979 and 1981. Documents created by the Ministry of the Interior since 1926 are also included. Some of the volumes that have the name of the Ministry of the Interior printed on the title page do not have the names of the prefectures concerned, and all of these were prepared by the Road Bureau Toll Roads Division.
