- On December 31, 1947, the Ministry of the Interior which had served as the supreme organ of the police administration was repealed and, on January 1 of 1948, Internal Affairs Bureau was set up as the tentative organ. Following the (former) Police Act (1947 Law No. 196, put into effect on March 7 1948), the Police Act was amended (1954 Law No. 162) under which the National Police Agency was set up.
