- Act on Prohibition of Private Monopolization and Maintenance of Fair Trade (Act No. 54 of 1947), also known as the Antimonopoly Act, was enacted, and the Japan Fair Trade Commission was established as its implementing body in July 1947. As part of the major reorganization of the central government in January 2001, the Japan Fair Trade Commission came under the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications as its external bureau, and then, it was reorganized as an external bureau of the Cabinet Office in April 2003.
