- FDMA was first established as the National Fire Department under the National Public Safety Commission on March 7, 1948, e pursuant to the Fire Service Organization Law. On August 1, 1952, the National Fire Department became an internal subdivision of the National Public Safety Commission. Then, (FDMA) came under the Ministry of Home Affairs as its external bureau when the Ministry was established on July 1, 1960. FDMA was further reorganized as an external bureau of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications by the central government reform in 2001.
