- The Land Coordination Commission was established to be an administrative commission as an external bureau of the Prime Minister's Office on January 31, 1951 based on the Land Coordination Commission Establishment Law, and conducted operations concerning land use coordination such as 1) the designation of mining prohibited areas, 2) adjudications on objections to administrative decisions related to mining industry etc., in order to coordinate between mining, quarrying, and sand and gravel collecting industries and public interests or other industries. On July 1, 1972, the Land Coordination Commission and the Central Environmental Dispute Council were consolidated and the Environmental Dispute Coordination Commission was newly set up as an external bureau of the Prime Minister's Office.

- Scope and Content
- In order to ensure that administrating agencies go through land use procedures properly, the Environmental Dispute Coordination Commission is required to express its opinions and give official approval when the competent Minister makes a decision in accordance with the Land Expropriation Law, Forest Law, Mining Law, etc. Materials included in this unit consist mostly of documents of opinions submitted to the Minister of Construction in accordance with the Land Expropriation Law (Article 27 Paragraph 2 and Article 131 Paragraph 1 of the Land Expropriation Law).
