An sample of a seal for the sovereign's message
In January, the 11th year of Meiji (1878) following the foreign cases, a seal for the sovereign's message was established. The center was the Chrysanthemum Throne, around which letters of the Government of Imperial Japan were described. The samples were colored red, blue and yellow, but the blue seal was adopted for use.
