Chart of Plants was made by referring to the illustrations of animals and plants in "School and Family Charts" by M. Wilson & N.A. Kalkins. It consists of 10 illustrations: 5 of animals and 5 of plants. Multicolor paints are added on the outlines made with copper plates. Selected by Ono Motoyoshi (1838-90), (the great-grandson of the Bakufu Doctor, Ono Ranzan. He served in the Ministry of Education and worked in the field of museum). Published by the Ministry of Education in the 6th year of Meiji (1873). The collection of the archives is as follows. Chart of Plants 1-4, Chart of Animals 1,2,3,5.
Painted by Hasegawa Chikuyo. The gourd flower family are divided in groups. Fruits such as peach, plum and persimmon are drawn in the upper section and pumpkin, eggplant and gourd in the lower section, both with multicolor paints. Original size: 58cm and 81cm
