Blueprint of the Inubosaki Lighthouse, 2

Inubosaki lighthouse was designed by R. H. Brunton, a British engineer and the construction was started on September 28, the 5th year of Meiji (1872). Operation of the lighthouse was started on November 15, the 7th year of Meiji (1874). Agency prepared this design drawing is unknown but from the description of "1872" in the drawing, it is believed that the Ministry of Construction prepared them before or after its construction and submitted to the Grand Council of State.Kobun Fuzoku no Zu (Picutures and charts affiliated with Kobun Roku) containing this drawing were designated as National Important Cultural Properties of Japan in the 10th year of Heisei (1998) together with "Kobunroku" (Compiled Records of the Grand Council of State).
