Kyoto Yugi-hyo
The program attached to the notification of the athletic competition for the students residing in the military school dormitory, submitted by Katsu Yasuyoshi, the Minister of Navy, to Sanjo Sanetomi, the Grand Minister of State, on March 8 in the 7th year of Meiji (1874). This Kyoto Yugi is considered to be the first school athletic day carried out in Japan. The numbers in the program differ slightly in Japanese and English texts.
