Photograph of Mukogawa Railway Bridge
On January 4, 1874, Minister of Industry Ito Hirobumi reported to Emperor Meiji on start of government affairs by the Emperor that completion of railway construction between Osaka and Kobe was imminent. Minister Ito showed a photo of Mukogawa Bridge. This photo has been preserved with the record of briefing. The railway section between Osaka and Kobe was opened to public service on May 11 of the same year, as the second railway in Japan after the section between Shimbashi in Tokyo and Yokohama. "Kobun Fuzoku no Zu" (Picutures and charts affiliated with Kobun Roku) containing this photo were designated as National Important Cultural Properties of Japan in the 10th year of Heisei (1998). together with "Kobunroku".(Compiled Records of the Grand Council of Statee)
