- Following the organizational and functional restructuring/integration of the Prime Minister's Office internal organs and the Administrative Management Agency, the Management and Coordination Agency was established as an external bureau of the Prime Minister's Office on July 1, 1984, after most of the departments and agencies of the Prime Minister's Office internal organs (Traffic Safety Policy Office, Policy Office for the Aged, Policy Office of Regional Improvement, Personal Bureau, Pension Bureau, Statistics Bureau, Statistical Training Institute, Youth Affairs Administration and Northern Territories Affairs Administration) and all the bureaus of the Administrative Management Agency were integrated. The internal departments and agencies included the Director-General's Secretariat, the Personal Bureau, the Administrative Management Bureau, the Administrative Inspection Bureau, the Pension Bureau, and the Statistics Bureau, in addition to which the Youth Affairs Administration and the Northern Territories Affairs Administration were set up as the special organs. Due to restructuring in the central government ministries and agencies of January 2001, the Management and Coordination Agency was repealed and was integrated through restructuring into the Cabinet Office and the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications.
