- The Building Bureau, created at the time of formation of the Ministry of Construction, was reorganized as the Housing Bureau on June 1, 1949 and the Building Guidance Division was also established. In May 1972, the Housing Production Division was set up and with the reform of ministries and agencies in January 2001, it became the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Housing Bureau Building Guidance Division and Housing Production Division.

- Scope and Content
- Special construction methods and building materials need to be authorized by the Minister of Construction in accordance with Article 38 of the Building Standards Law (1950 Law No. 201) to ensure their safety. Materials included in this unit consist of documents related to applications for such authorization. These applications are accompanied by certificates that describe evaluations of production and construction technologies applied for, production capacity, and detailed data on tests and experiments. With the establishment of the Housing Production Division in 1972, of the clerical work for approval and permission performed by the Building Guidance Division under the Law, that for housing-related review was separated and consigned to the Housing Production Division. Since 1974, the Building Guidance Division has been responsible for the examination of structural and other construction materials (except housing-related ones), elevators, multistory parking garages, water purification tanks, etc. Other documents include architecture-related materials, including those related to the Construction in Urban Areas Law (1948-1954), documents related to requests for examination under the Building Standards Law, and materials on Building Technology Examination Committee.
