- At the abolishment of the former Ministry of Justice in February 1948 and the formation of the Justice Agency, three bureaus: the Correction General Affairs Bureau, Adult Correction Bureau and Juvenile Correction Bureau, were established, which all became the Correction and Rehabilitation Bureau during the reorganization of the Justice Agency into the Justice Office in June 1949. It was then independently established as the Correction Bureau during the reorganization of the Ministry of Justice in August 1952. The main operations of the Correction Bureau include penalty action/detention, overseeing procedures for sending juveniles to delinquent centers and juvenile courts, guidance and conduct of supervisory trials, etc.
