- In November 1940 the Rehabilitation Bureau was established in the Ministry of Justice, which was abolished in November 1943. Later, the Correction and Rehabilitation Bureau was established at the time of the formation of the Justice Agency in June 1949, and became independently established as the Rehabilitation Bureau at the formation of the Ministry of Justice in August 1952. The main operations of the Rehabilitation Bureau include: 1) amnesties, 2) temporary discharge, temporary leave, temporary release, conclusion of penalty action without fixed terms and release, 3) rehabilitation supervision, recovery and emergency rehabilitation as well as control of detainment environment during time of occupancy at prison, juvenile delinquent centers and female guidance centers, 4) facilitation as well as supervision over recovery and rehabilitation operations, etc.
